QUODLIBET is me who knows about auditory hallucinaton  and his FINNEGANS WAKE RIDE is a straight translation but that the dialogue  obviously accmodates itself to NY 1970, ditto for DYING CRYING [not happy with that at all] didn't take enough of  the QUODLIBET tack there! However, although Handke said it was a better translation than he could have ever imagined it came a cropper at Michael diCapua, a little ice-pick-asslicker who had advanced to editor in chief at Farrar, Straus and who especially objected to Handke's formulation of sexual heat.  Part of the long detailed Afterword are on-line at the Translation site..   . The Innerworld translations are very straight and so is Nonsense & Happiness. Innerworld I then added some later that were only published in magazines... The New Yorker, Howard Moss was hospitable... pretty challenging to get some of them as right as I could at the time...with KASPAR I initially got even wilder than Handke in mocking rhyme and rhthm and didnt rein it in until Peter Brook asked me to..
