reminds me that at my last NY loft at 65 West Broadway, whose ground floor had been the mercantile

BOAR restaurant, now a girlie joint, with the second floor the "service area", into whose dark red light distric 

 you could peek   through the badly blocked absence of a door handle, that on that decaying marbled and tiled landing was an ancient dusty rusty slab filled with telephone acient screw on connections... all to the IRS which stoood vis-a-vis at Barclay and West Broadway, which provided us with no end of free telephones but also the occaional eaves-dropping on the IRS who, if they happened to notice their being overheard, got very scared indeed. Otherwise the building as a whole, all four floors and the roof, were 

erotically pornographically charged. even the third floor, which was leased by a dance company that practiced on its uneven swaying attenuated trampoline floor boards: once, when a sable-furred extra special tom cat that i had just imported from brooklyn got instantly lost and i went hunting for it, and there was no answer when i knocked and the door opened to my touch: what did i see: the director robert wilson getting a blow job, 

i asked about my tom cat, without batting an eye lash he replied that he had not seen him. 

i closed the door and that was that. i think this could be fit into the second edition of one of jim krusoe's novels, no? Who has a new one out, i particulikely enjoyed GIRL FACTORY and ICELAND. when i told this story to jerry leiber his instant comeback was that he hoped that my tomcat didnt get a blow job too!
